The Love Dare

If any couples out there are looking for good couples devotional books, a definate MUST READ is The Love Dare, a Day by Day Couple's Devotional by Stephen and Alex Kendrick.. I like this devotional personally because it is all about the "love" in your relationship and how to love so many different things in so many different ways. We've all been there when we need some help, cant make ends meet, have too much stress, don't know how to get our needs met, and think we cant go on. I have the page marked and read this one devotional anytime that Im feeling like I want to give up or Im lost and it always makes things seem sooo much better...

My favorite devotional so far is day 197 and it applies not only to couples but to everything in life in general! Thought I would share for the day! :)

Day 197

Love Delights in God

"Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart's desires." - Psalm 37:4

Do you trust God to supply what you need? When we are seeking Him first, loving Him first, and making our relationship with Him top prioritym He promises to supply us with what we really need. When He is our true delight, we come to realize the inadequacy of every other subsitute.

Jesus once spoke to a woman at a Samaritan well, a woman who had tried getting her needs met through a string of failed relationships. With both her life and her water bucket empty, she had come to this place broken and hardened. But in Christ, she found what He called "living water" (John 4:10)- a supply that wasnt just for quenching temporary thirst. What He offered her was a drink of soul satisfaction that never quits giving and refreshing.

This is what's available to you, no matter who your spouse is or what they've done to you. God is your everyday supply- ov EVERYTHING that you need.

Where do I Start?

Oh goodness, there have been SO MANY things that have happened in the last month, I dont even know where to start to start this blog!
The wedding weekend has come and gone and all in all it was a success! There were things that were AMAZING, there were some things that weren't so amazing (the violins haha) but all in all we had the BEST weekend of our lives. Rickey and I were so thankful to have all of our friends there to celebrate in our marriage. We got through our vows with happy smiles and no crying, Rickey had a great time dancing and showing off his skills, and our PICTURES are phenominal! I am so very pleased with the weekend and glad that the weekend we got hitched was perfect!

The honeymoon was has also come and gone and it WAS A BLAST!! We literally had the time of our lives being pampered by the staff at the Excellence Resort, laying on the beach with a drink in our hand, just loving life as married folks! :) We did some fun activities like tour the Mayan Ruins at Chichen Itza, swam in a cenote` sinkhole, caught a Michael Jackson show, and having DELISH dinners every single night! It was the best vacation that we have ever had and Rickey and I both said that we would be vacationing with the Excellence Resort again and again and AGAIN!

And now its back to reality!! We are home in Cleveland just doing our day to day things and loving the married life! We are very excited for all the future possibilities though and look forward to spending the rest of our lives together :)
God bless,
