Its been a while since I last posted so in my fateful New Years resolutions, I thought I would try to be better about blogging on a regular basis. Since so many of our friends and relatives are at a long distance to us, this is one of the best ways for us to keep everyone in the loop of our little lives..
Well, we are FINALLY moved into the house and adjusting well. I think the first few weeks MUST be the hardest and most exciting all in the same. There have been days that Rickey and I seem ready to kill each other about closing drawers or how the towels should be folded, and then there are moments where we just are so happy to be able to be together. For SO LONG, it seemed like we would have to read our own blog to be able to connect-distance was our relationship. Although we aren't newlyweds yet, the day is closly upon us and living in the same house is very new.. And fun.. And exciting. We are learning about each other. We are forming this NEW relationship together where we are forced to rely on each other more than ever before, and its very wonderful. We still don't have all the furniture we need, our dishes and pots and pans are hand me downs, and we get excited about ordering new shower curtains and cooking in crock pots.. Life is changing. If u know me, then you know that I have always despised cooking and now I find myself wanting to have dinner for rickey when he gets home from the coaching office and searching for new recipes that I can make.. But as far as our adjusting to life in cleveland (together) its been good. I'm still on the hunt for my very own friends outside of just the baseball circle and its going well. I have met LOTS of sweet people at the hospital and just through town. I'm also beginning to volunteer with the Bolivar County Literacy council helping adults learn to read at the local library once a week. So things are going well.. Rickey is full throttle back into baseball. Season started today and between classes and ball, meetings, lessons and practices, he has a full plate. I am so proud of him and to see the excitement on his face when he talks about coaching brings my heart such joy. Abner has even taken cleveland by storm and KNOWS when we pull into the driveway to the house, WE ARE HOME. :) he does his little "excited dance" and howls, and seems really happy. He is even feeling better! (For those who didn't know and I didn't blog about it I don't think-we found out Abs has hip dysplacia and arthritis in his back hips and joints, making my one year old puppy unable to walk at times.. We were DEVASTATED, to know that his degenerative health problem has no cure and we can only maintain his pain by medication that makes him sick.).. But he does seem to be feeling better little by little, and we baby him as always! The wedding is approaching sooooooo soooon and we are so excited. Natchez isn't too far away and there are lots of plans to get underway. Rickey and I went to his two best friends from high school's wedding this weekend and it was so much fun! Brad and Shasta are, seriously, the cutest couple ever and it was great to see them so happy and excited on their wedding day. Really put things in perspective that we are NEXT! Ahhhh! Its time for showers and bachelorette\bachelor parties, along with baseball season, class, and work! Whew! Its a busy 2010 already!
